What is the Process Map template?

A process map is a visual representation that outlines the steps and activities involved in a specific process or workflow. It provides a clear and structured overview of tasks, helping teams understand the sequence of actions required to achieve a desired outcome. Process maps use symbols and flowcharts to illustrate the flow, making complex procedures more accessible and easier to analyze.

By breaking down intricate processes into manageable components, a process map allows for better transparency and comprehension. It helps in identifying potential bottlenecks, redundancies, and areas for improvement within a workflow. Furthermore, process mapping serves as a valuable tool for communication and collaboration among team members, enabling them to work together more effectively toward common goals.

How to use the Process Map template in a few steps?

  1. Open the Process Map template on a new whiteboard or add it to an already existing one.
  2. Start the video call and add your camera stream to the board to collaborate with your team.
  3. Move to the first sticky note of the flowchart and write down your main goal of the exercise. Break down the goal into smaller units, taking into account the subsets (compound actions included within another main process). Change the shapes of sticky notes to designate processes, decisions, delays, or other activities.
  4. Continue the exercise until you reach the end. Connect the steps with arrows to designate the flow.
